Here's a new feature for 2007. I've done some homework and can now embed photographs into posts rather than just providing a link to a webpage held on our site. So here's how it works. You've just finished an upholstery masterpeice and you want to share it with forum members. What you do is write a new post describing your masterpiece and email me the photo you want to include in the post - david@oldsofas.com

Bare with me and I will process your photo so it will fit in your post -ONE picture only please and if you can send it to me no bigger than 600 x 700 that would be much appreciated but don't worry if you can't. I'll add some code to the post so that the picture comes up within the text. Then all you have to do is wait for members praise/constructive criticism and comments - sounds like a formula for fun and controversy. Lets see shall we?

Here, by way of an example is a picture of Wilma aka 'Poppit' with Ruth.

Beautiful!!

Brilliant idea! Give everyone an opportunity to show off their projects and accept ideas, criticism or whatever, without the added pressure of a competition that recently resulted in so much heat. Maybe a competition could also be run for those who feel the need for prizes. But please, let us all accept any criticism in the spirit in which it is given - a means of improvement. No matter how good a piece may be, an expert can virtually always suggest ways in which the next piece could be even better! If you are not an expert, and I certainly am not, grab the opportunity of expert advice to help you improve. Would you go to a Doctor and then tell him he is wrong!

Yes - and frequently do. The notion of 'expert' is an intersting one. I wonder how many there are on this forum who would admit to being one? Not me that's for sure
